About R B Construction, inc.

In 1968, Richard W. Bianco founded R B Construction, Inc. At that time, the company was primarily a framing and drywall contractor. By 1976, Fred Forest, an experienced lumber salesman for Edward Hines Lumber, was brought on as partner. In 1983, Fred’s son Mike joined the company after graduating from college with an architectural degree, while Rich Sr.’s son Rich joined in 1994 after earning his degree in finance.
For many years, Mike and Rich operated RB as partners and the company truly flourished with their ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment. They have taken the small family-owned business and grown RB to a company that is regarded as a leader in their industry. Focusing on close relationships and delivering exceptional customer service, examples of RB’s work can be seen in school districts, senior living communities, municipal buildings, projects in the private sector, and even some of your local owned businesses. Today, R B Construction, Inc. is shifting into its third generation of owners.
At its core, R B Construction, Inc. is a business that revolves around people. Most employees are long-term employees who worked with the company for over ten years. Partners

Mike Forest

RB Team Member since 1975, Partner since 1995

Mike came to work at RB at 16 years old as a laborer and truck driver, occasionally assisting with timecards and payroll duties. As he attended college, he continued to work in the field alongside the carpenters before graduating from the University of Illinois and joining the office team full-time as a project manager and estimator. The first project Mike bid and won was a senior living complex in Lombard, the largest carpentry project RB had worked on to date in 1983. Mike is proud of projects that show off RB’s diverse carpentry skills such as the Mid-America Club in the Standard Oil Building, the Will County Juvenile Justice Center, the Kane County Courthouse and the Writers Theatre in Glencoe. While problem solving and team work are Mike’s favorite past times at work, he also can be found traveling across the United States visiting National Parks in his motorhome or at the lake retreat with family.

Rich Bianco

RB Team Member since 1994, Partner since 1995

Rich graduated from the University of Illinois in 1990 with a business degree and worked at the Options Exchange. He came to RB in 1994 to be on site as RB expanded into out of state projects such as the Blockbuster Video stores. As he moved into the office full time, his focus shifted to project management and estimating while cultivating close working relationships with clients as well as subcontractors. One of the things he loves most about the construction business is being able to drive through the Chicagoland area and see the range of projects RB has worked on through the years. Rich loves to spend time outdoors whether he is on the golf course, exploring nature on a run, or snowmobiling in Northern Wisconsin.

George Broniec

RB Team Member since 1986, Partner Since 2020

George started at RB in 1986 as a carpenter and moved to a foreman position a few years later. He left the company in 1998 to manage a 200+ unit loft/townhome conversion in Chicago. After successfully completing the project in the early 2000’s he returned to RB as a project manager and estimator. With the vision to expand more into general contracting, he focused on developing relationships with architects and clients looking for general contracting/design-build services. This work has become a key factor in the company’s business plan. When he is not in the office (which most folks at RBC think is too often) he can be found somewhere up north spending time with family and friends.

John Zybko

RB Team Member since 1982, Partner since 2020

John wanted to be in construction as far back as he can remember and started working in the trades the day after graduating high school in 1982 as a laborer for a construction company. He quickly got a job with a carpenter contractor building custom homes. In October of 1995, John’s brother, Tom (a RB employee since 1984) convinced him to join the team at RB as a union carpenter. John quickly moved up the ranks to foreman, running many school and commercial projects before joining the office as an estimator/project manager in 2000 and a partner in 2020. When he’s not at the office, John enjoys working around the house, going to Chicago Cubs games with his wife and friends, spending time with his granddaughter, his two daughters and their husbands, and traveling.

Stephanie Pedraza

RB Team Member since 1994, Partner since 2020

Stephanie came to work at RB in 1994. What started as her just helping out her father Fred, quickly turned into a full-time position. While her duties included, AR/AP and payroll, she is most known for being the friendly voice that greets each phone call to RB. She worked for 9 years before taking a break for 9 years to raise her family. When she came back, her position shifted into payroll and HR duties. She is still the ever-present voice of RB, quick to the phone with a smile. She is extremely involved in her community and is an avid sports fan, whether watching her children or rooting on the University of Illinois, her alma mater.

Alex Forest

RB Team Member since 2002, Partner since 2020

Alex started working at RB at 15 years old as a laborer in the summer of 2002 and returned in the summer of 2003. He attended the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago and graduated in 2008, when he returned to RB as a truck driver and carpenter apprentice. He became a journey man in 2013. He has put his art degree to use in both the field and the office and is known for his creative solutions to problem-solving. In 2020, he became a full-time project manager, estimator and partner. Alex continues to create art with his hands and enjoys woodworking and working on his house.
